Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay are the first people to climb to the top of mount Everest, before the climb Edmund, became part of the British reconnaissance  expedition to a mountain in 1951 He also was once a beekeeper. He was also born in New Zealand, Auckland. Sir Edmund Hillary was 6 feet 5 inches. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth the second once he climbed up mount Everest. He was a navigator with the New Zealand Royal Air Force during WWII.
